Two pioneers of wildlife conservation in Pennsylvania have had their names added to a Washington, D.C. memorial that recognizes the sacrifice of law-enforcement officers who die in the line of duty. Wisconsin; Private landowners will receive grant funding for forest stewardship activities

MADISON – Private landowners in 31 Wisconsin counties will receive a total of $57,864 dollars in grants to assist them in tree planting, forest stewardship planning and crop tree release, among other sustainable practices. The Department of Natural Resources forest landowner grant program aids woodland owners in protecting and improving their woodlands and associated resources, according to Carol Nielsen, DNR private forestry specialist. HARRISBURG – The fuel tanker explosion that has closed a stretch of Interstate 81 near Harrisburg also caused about 2,000 gallons of spilled diesel fuel to flow into a nearby wetlands, prompting a rapid response to contain and clean up the spill, and rescue affected wildlife. Hunters Plead Guilty in High-Profile Illinois Deer Poaching Case
